Dr. Vance opened Sycamore Dental in 2018 after eight years at a group practice in Westchester. The name comes from the sycamore that stands outside the office. We are now three dentists serving families across Rockland and northern Bergen.

Why we opened.
Dr. Vance spent eight years at a high-volume group practice. She loved the work and tolerated the rhythm — visits scheduled tightly enough that the dentist arrived in the room already behind. When she opened Sycamore in 2018, she wrote down two rules and built the schedule around them.
First, no double-booking. The chair you sit in is the chair the dentist is in next.
Second, the room belongs to the patient. We talk before we treat. If a plan does not make sense to you, we have not finished explaining it.
That is the whole pitch. There is no growth strategy. We added two dentists because patients asked us to take on their kids, their cosmetic work, their second opinions. We will not add a fourth unless the same pressure is there.
