Sycamore Dental New here

Three things before your first visit.

We try to make the first appointment unsurprising. Here is what to expect, what to bring, and what we will not do.

Services

How the first visit runs.

50 minutes, start to finish. No surprises.

We talk first.

Ten minutes. Your history, what is bothering you, what you want. No instruments until you have spoken.

Exam and X-rays.

Twenty minutes. A full mouth exam, plus X-rays only if you do not have a recent set we can use.

Plan in writing.

Twenty minutes. If anything needs follow-up, you leave with a printed plan — itemized, with insurance coverage already estimated.

What to bring.

  • Photo ID — for our records.
  • Insurance card — even if you are not sure we take your plan, bring it. We will tell you in the room.
  • Recent X-rays — if you have them from a previous dentist, email them to us beforehand at hello@sycamoredentalnyack.example. Saves a round of imaging.
  • A list of medications — including supplements. Some interact with dental work in ways we should plan around.
  • Your questions — written down. The first visit is the easiest one to ask in.

What we will not do on day one.

  • Push treatment you did not ask about.
  • Estimate work without showing you the math.
  • Schedule a follow-up unless you choose to.

Paying.

We accept most PPO plans and file claims for you. If you are uninsured, the Sycamore Membership covers all preventive care for $349/year, plus 20% off the rest. Payment plans for treatment over $500. No surprises after the visit.

FAQ

Common new-patient questions.

How long until I can be seen?

Usually within ten business days. Sometimes same week for kids or emergencies. Call or email to check.

Can my whole family come?

Yes — and we recommend it. Stacked appointments save trips. Tell us how many people and we will block the right time.

Do you take new patients in pain?

Yes. Call before noon any weekday for a same-day chair. We hold time every morning for this.

I have not seen a dentist in years. Will I get a lecture?

No. Dr. Vance has a rule about that.
